Scilaurium was created in response to the widespread need for physicians and scientists to communicate about their work through written media.  While medical and scientific training focuses on how to care for patients or how to do research, the fact is that careers are measured by the milestones of grants awarded and papers published.  Grants, papers, applications, seminars, presentations, and more require excellent writing skills and critical scientific thought in order to be successful.  Merely knowing how to use punctuation correctly, while important, is not enough to ensure success.  Grammar, language, and expertise must converge to deliver powerful, effective communication.

 

Through connecting physicians and scientists with others in their fields who are accomplished writers, skilled mentors, and knowledgeable experts, we aim to elevate the quality of writing in medicine and science, as well as to help individuals reach their personal career aspirations.  Ultimately, we aim to facilitate the development of a new realm of what is possible through empowering people in their research and career projects, thereby allowing more and better science to happen.
